How It Works
Setup:
Place the Race Gate over your track.
Connect the gate to a USB power supply.
Simply place and race!
Race Start:
Position your model cars at the starting line.
Initiate the race with the sound and light sequence, just like a real Formula 1 race start.
Race Action:
As the cars race through the finish gate, sensitive sensors will detect and measure the:
Race time,
Winning margin, and
Speed of each vehicle.
The results are displayed on the onboard LCD.
Data Analysis:
For more precise data, connect the Race Gate to a computer via the USB connector. This allows:
Greater precision in timing,
Detailed analysis,
Historical record keeping,
Tuning of car and track setups.
Note: This feature is only available in Datalink and Advanced versions.

What began as a family DIY project has transformed into a fantastic commercial product, born from a simple need: clarity in racing results. While enjoying countless Hot Wheel car races with my children, I noticed the challenge of determining the winner from being at the starting line—those thrilling moments when cars are launched together and finishing so close it was nearly impossible to declare a champion! Realising there was no existing Hot Wheels product solution, I took matters into my own hands.
That’s how the Race Gate came to life! Through experimentation with innovative electronics and bespoke microchip design, I developed a system that not only spots the winning car but also measures its speed. After showcasing the prototype, the enthusiastic response from friends and social groups motivated me to turn this project into a reality.
Now, the Race Timer Start/Finish Line and Speedometer (affectionately known as the Race Gate) brings joy to diecast racing enthusiasts around the globe.
